OBJECTIVE:
Confirm that Virtual Reality / 3D imaging enhances patient understanding and compliance.
RESULTS:
- Patient education is lacking with current methods
- Patients want to be thoroughly informed
- VR was ranked the most preferred tool (81%) by patients and provided significantly higher level of understanding over current methods
- VR may be best educational tool to convey complex 3D anatomical information
- Patients/Caregivers want VR to become standard-of-care
Patients described as: “amazing”, “phenomenal”, “fantastic”, “awesome” and “too short”. When asked if still glad they did VR, all answered “yes”.
